KL Riverbank is envisioned as a revitalised public space that brings the riverbank back to life as a place of exchange, creativity, and intellectual and cultural discourse. Drawing inspiration from Kuala Lumpur's origins as a historic trading post and a natural meeting point of diverse cultures, the project reimagines the riverbank as a contemporary platform where ideas are born, shared, and celebrated—honouring the city's past while nurturing new creative and cultural dialogues for the future.

The KL Riverbank shifts in purpose from infrastructure to a lived place, and from passive sightseeing to active participation. Rather than existing only as a backdrop of memory, it becomes a space for lived experience, where people engage directly with the environment and with one another. Through symbolic interactions such as sketching, making, talking, and gathering, the riverbank is transformed into a dynamic cultural ground that invites creativity, connection, and shared human presence.
